I see you.

I see you hustling to get more done—to be the perfect parent/spouse/employee/leader/human.
I see that under your polished exterior, you are exhausted, stressed out, and ready for a change.
I see you feel unappreciated but left frustrated and guilty that you feel this way.
I see you breakdown in those heavy, lonely moments when you think no one notices.

I hear you.

I hear your inner thoughts (the ones you only admit to your therapist):
“I’m working myself ragged, and I’m still not enough.”
“If I could just (fill in the blank), then I will be happy.”
“Why does (fill in the blank:  parenting, life, work, marriage, staying in shape, having it all together, etc.)
seem so easy for (fill in the blank:  name of the person who appears to have it all)?”
“Someday, when (fill in the blank:  I make more money, the kids are grown, I’m less stressed out, etc.,)
then I’ll have time to work on my own happiness.”
But I also hear the still, small voice that says, “Despite it all, I’m still trying.”

I’ve been there.

I do just enough and give 90%—always staying safe by holding back just a little bit, staying small to avoid being criticized,
and being afraid to show up as the real (imperfect) ME.
I have become so risk-averse that I struggle to know what inspires me.
I find myself numbing and my soul is aching for that something that fills me up.

I’ve got you covered.

Whether you’re trying to be a better parent, partner, friend, leader, or human (surely one of these applies to you!), you can rest assured that

In Daring Greatly™, we get clear on what holds our highest value and how shame, perfection, and fear keep us from staying in those values. You will learn WHAT shame and fear messages keep YOU hidden and isolated. We will teach you how to practice empathy and self-compassion, resulting in you showing up in a way that feels courageous and bold. In Daring Greatly™, you choose an arena you would like to work on and with the help of a certified facilitator, you will begin living life inside of the arena. It will be messy. It will be challenging. It will be life-changing!

The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The method was designed for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders. It can be facilitated in clinical, educational, and professional settings. During the process, facilitators explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. Participants are invited to examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding them back and identify the new choices and practices that will move them toward more authentic and wholehearted living. The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead.

Further information is available at brenebrown.com.

The physics of vulnerability is simple: If we are brave enough, often enough, we will fall. Rising Strong is a book about what it takes to get back up and how owning our stories of struggle gives us the power to write a daring new ending. Struggle can be our greatest call to courage and the clearest path to a wholehearted life.

Further information is available at brenebrown.com.

Here’s how Brené describes the progression of her work:

  • The Gifts of Imperfection – Be you.
  • Daring Greatly – Be all in.
  • Rising Strong – Fall. Get up. Try again.

The Daring Way™ groups at Family Strategies are facilitated by Angie Hatch, LPC, CSAT, CDWF Certified Daring Way™Facilitator. Angie can be reached at 480-668-8301 ext. 1007 or ahatch@familystrategies.org.
