Making the difficult decision to ask for help when things become unmanageable is courageous and admirable. I feel so honored to work with people who are willing to embrace the uncertainty and are open to changing their lives for the better.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) at Family Strategies, receiving my master’s in the Science of Counseling at the University of Phoenix in Arizona and a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University. I completed my internship at Family Transitions in Phoenix, working with those convicted of sex offenses to understand the offense cycle, intimacy cycle, and the role shame plays in their lives. I have extensive training in sexual addiction and betrayal trauma and I am a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). My treatment style is eclectic utilizing various treatment modalities from a trauma-informed, cognitive-behavioral perspective, DBT, mindfulness practices, as well as motivational interviewing, and shame resilience techniques. My approach to treatment is from a place of empathy and unconditional positive regard for my clients in order to create a safe and trusting therapeutic alliance.
When I’m not working, I’m hanging out with my husband, four kids, three dogs, and two cats, reading a book, eating good food, and planning my next travel adventure.
