The VALOR series for Teens is the result of ongoing clinical work with adolescents and college-aged young men since 2007. This group is specifically designed for teenage boys who struggle with compulsive use of pornography and/or other sexual behaviors. Our program offers concepts and tools for achieving sobriety and stands out for three key reasons:
We have a structured system that helps participants easily track their progress.
Our program fosters a high level of collaboration among therapists, ensuring coordinated care.
We continuously update the program to align with the latest science and research.
The program includes a comprehensive set of handouts and achievement milestones that help young men understand and manage their compulsive behaviors. We have a finely tuned system that is engaging and effective. Participants advance through "Ranks," and responsibilities and rewards are built into the system to keep them motivated.
Our team of experienced therapists specializes in addressing these complex issues and has a strong rapport with teens. They collaborate closely, regularly discussing each participant’s progress. Our therapists also stay up to date with the latest research by attending conferences and workshops focused on problematic sexual behaviors, which informs the interventions we provide.
A young man’s progress often depends on changes within the family system, including shifts in family dynamics or parenting strategies. Parental involvement is critical to their son’s success. To support this, parents are expected to participate in family counseling and attend monthly Parent Workshops.
Healthy behavior goes beyond simply avoiding mistakes. It involves making deep, internal changes. Lasting improvements require young men to transform themselves from within. While most complete the program within 8-12 months, there is no strict time limit. We focus on growth, not deadlines, and support each participant in taking the time they need to develop the necessary skills for lasting success.
